The whole of the Bourne trilogy are epic, it's kind of James bond with out all stupid gadgetry and I think the reason that when they made the Casino Royal the team stripped it back to basics, and got rid of all the gadgetry. But where as the Bourne sagas got better and better the new Bonds failed to do this. I wanted to compare films because I really like The Bourne Supremacy the flow of the film is just edge of your seat kinda stuff, but really clever at the same time, nothing is so far fetched that you don't believe that there are people like Jason Bourne in real life. Where as the latest James Bond, The Quantum Of Solace is just rubbish, there is a complete lack of story line, probably due to the fact that it was made to be a sequel to Casino Royal (after running out of Ian Flemming's novels to set a story from). I was just generally really disappointed with The Quantum Of Solace, after Casino Royal being such a good film.
I thought that it would be good to compare the flow of the films by looking at a car chase from each.
This is film is pretty fast paced and this car chase shows the fast action, what i really like about the style of this chase are the shots from outside to inside the car, i feel they work really well and keep with the pace of the film. There's a great selection of shots and the sequencing works. compared to The Quantum Of Solace the scene just flows much better.
I know in the Bourne chase scene that the edits jump pretty quickly but in this scene i just don't think it flows as well, mainly like the complete film. It's not a terrible chase scene but from advice from a video tutor was told that its just badly edited together.
